V2 Rocket – the legendary “Wunderwaffe”
Build the famous V2 rocket with transport base in the Executive Edition, including a figure of General Walter Dornberger. This rocket, one of the most famous German so-called Wunderwaffen, is considered the world’s first long-range missile and had a huge influence on the development of space travel after the war.
The 1:35 scale model consists of 1,191 high-quality building blocks and features a removable rocket shell, revealing a reconstructed interior: a powerful rocket engine, fuel tank, and a warhead with explosive charge. The set also includes a transport and launch base, a warning sign, and a nameplate for display.
History of the V2
The V2 (Vergeltungswaffe 2) was developed by Germany during World War II. Lead designer Wernher von Braun later became one of the pioneers of the American space program. From 1944, V2 rockets were used to attack cities like London and other Allied locations. With a range of approximately 300 km and an explosive charge of 1 ton, the rocket rose to an altitude of 100 km before falling back to the target at enormous speed, making interception virtually impossible. The V2 was the precursor to all modern ballistic missiles and laid the foundation for future space technology.
