The Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus was one of the Third Reich’s most ambitious armament projects, developed during World War II. Designed as a super-heavy prototype tank weighing approximately 188 tons, it was a technological extreme for its time.
The project was developed by Krupp at the request of the Wehrmacht and was personally supervised by Ferdinand Porsche.
Although mass production was planned, only two incomplete prototypes were eventually built. After their capture by the Red Army in 1945, parts of both vehicles were combined into one complete model, which can still be seen today at the Tank Museum in Kubinka near Moscow.
