Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge over the River Thames in London, named after the nearby Tower of London. Opened in 1894, it connects the district of Tower Hamlets on the north side with the district of Southwark on the south side. The A100 main road runs across the bridge. Tower Bridge is built in a Neo-Gothic style and is the easternmost Thames bridge in London. On the north bank are the Tower of London and St Katharine Docks, while City Hall stands on the south bank.
