Tiger 131 – a legend from the Second World War
Build the unique model of the famous PzKpfw VI Tiger with number 131, the famous German heavy tank model captured by the British in Africa and today the main attraction of The Tank Museum!
The Tiger 131 in block form has been recreated with extreme precision in the popular 1:35 scale. This is the first time COBI has released the legendary Tiger 131 in this scale. The model features moving parts, such as the turret and gun barrel, and has rotating wheels and tracks. The extensive building kit consists of 898 elements and faithfully reflects the original shapes of the historical specimen.
The model includes a miniature of the Maybach engine, which can be displayed next to the tank or placed under the service hatch. Thanks to the high-quality prints, colors and details remain perfectly visible. The hatches open to provide space for COBI figures. The set includes a figure of a German tank crew member in tropical uniform and a white display plate with the name of the tank and The Tank Museum logo.
Historical background
The Panzerkampfwagen VI, Tiger I, was a German heavy tank from the Second World War. The vehicle became famous for its characteristic shape and legendary power. The first Tiger tanks were deployed in August/September 1942 at Leningrad and in Tunisia. Despite the enormous consumption of materials and time, the Tiger had a significant impact on warfare. These tanks destroyed more than 10,300 Allied tanks and 11,380 guns, with only 1,725 losses on their own side.
