The MiG-29 Fulcrum is one of the most famous fighter jets from the Cold War. Developed by the Soviet Union and in use since 1983, the aircraft was also delivered to East Germany in 1988. After German reunification, the MiG-29s continued to fly in the Luftwaffe until 2002, after which the aircraft were sold to Poland.

Historical background
The MiG-29 Fulcrum was designed as a modern air defense fighter and played a major role in the air forces of the Soviet Union and its allies. Its excellent maneuverability and speed made the aircraft a formidable opponent in dogfights. For East Germany, the MiG-29 became the symbol of the Cold War, and after 1990, this unique type even flew within the Luftwaffe.
