This vehicle was based on the Panzer IV chassis and was equipped with a quadruple 2cm Flakvierling 38 cannon. The Wirbelwind provided air support for ground troops and was part of a family of anti-aircraft vehicles deployed in various combat roles during the war. Production began in 1944 under difficult wartime conditions, and the exact number of vehicles produced remains unknown.
