The Boeing™ B-17F Flying Fortress™ is one of the most famous American bombers from World War II and is now available as a licensed COBI model. This heavy four-engine bomber, featured here in the historic “Mary Alice” version, has been carefully recreated in 1:48 scale with over 1,200 bricks.
The B-17 was designed as a long-range bomber, capable of carrying large bomb loads over significant distances. With its four powerful engines, heavy armor, and high resistance to enemy fire, the Flying Fortress was known for its durability and robustness. Even when heavily damaged, the aircraft could often return safely. During WWII, the B-17 played a crucial role in Allied bombing raids on strategic targets in Europe and the Pacific. It became an icon of the US Air Force and a lasting symbol of courage and perseverance.
The model is 49 cm long, has a wingspan of 66 cm, and features numerous moving parts such as retractable landing gear, rotating propellers, movable ailerons, and opening bomb bays. The aircraft is fully decorated with durable prints (no stickers) and comes with a nameplate and 2 pilot figures with detailed uniform prints.
