The P-47 Thunderbolt™ was an iconic single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber, the predecessor to modern multi-role fighters. As the largest single-engine fighter of World War II, the Thunderbolt was affectionately nicknamed “Jug”, derived from “Juggernaut”. More than 15,000 aircraft were produced, making it one of the most successful and numerous American fighter planes of the war. The aircraft saw action on fronts in Europe, Africa, the Far East, and the Pacific.
This 1:32 scale COBI model is developed with 477 building blocks, fully in line with the rest of the Historical Collection. Thanks to high-quality prints, historical details, including the famous “Little Chief” insignia, are durably represented – no stickers. The model features moving parts such as a rotating propeller, ailerons, and wheels with rubber tires. The included pilot figure can be placed in the cockpit.
