The aircraft’s name, “Mriya”, means “dream” in Ukrainian. The An-225 has a wingspan of 88.4 meters (290 feet) and a length of 84 meters. Its maximum takeoff weight is approximately 640 tons (1.4 million pounds). It is powered by six turbofan engines, providing the necessary thrust to carry heavy loads. Although the Antonov An-225 Mriya is a remarkable aircraft, its operational availability is limited as only one was ever built.
