The Pz.Kpfw. VI “Tiger” with side number 114, located at the Musée des Blindés in Saumur, France, is one of the most important centerpieces of this museum. Tiger tanks were some of the most notorious and dangerous armored vehicles deployed by Germany during World War II. They were known for their massive firepower, particularly the 88mm gun, and their thick armor. This specific specimen, numbered 114, is one of the few surviving Tigers in the world, making it highly valuable from a historical and technological perspective. This tank saw combat and was captured by the Allies. After repairs, it served in the French army under the name “Bretagne”. Currently, the tank is undergoing renovation and will soon return to the exhibition and be used in dynamic field shows!
The detailed model is designed at 1:35 scale, consists of 870 building blocks and is 25 cm long. Under the service hatch, you’ll find a removable block model of the Maybach HL 210 engine! The model offers many building and play possibilities. You can choose whether your vehicle carries German or French markings (Bretagne).
The turret features the tactical number 114. The model’s functions include a removable engine, working tracks, a movable gun (up and down), and a rotating turret. Figures can be placed in the open hatches. The set also includes detailed figures of a German and a French tank commander. The German wears a special camouflage overall and the Frenchman a classic tank uniform with a beret. Both figures are equipped with accessories, such as binoculars, a wrench, and a jerry can.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank from World War II. It was one of the most powerful tanks of its time. Designed by Henschel in the 1930s and put into production from 1942, the Tiger was known for its 88mm KwK 36 gun and strong armor that provided excellent protection. Despite technical issues and high production costs, the Tiger quickly gained a fearsome reputation on the battlefield. In total, approximately 1,350 units were built.
